Prague, Czech Republic • Heritage Preservation & Digital Modeling
Acopex Construction was proud to support the digital reconstruction of the historic Vinohrady Synagogue in Prague, a landmark originally completed in the late 19th century and demolished in 1951. Through modern BIM/VDC methodologies, the synagogue was brought back to life as a fully realized 3D model—preserving its cultural and architectural legacy for future generations.
This 27,447-square-foot initiative involved complete digital modeling of the synagogue’s exterior and interior volumes, including its twin towers, intricate façade, and vaulted interior. The project demanded exceptional precision in architectural interpretation, materiality replication, and data coordination across academic institutions.
KU Leuven (Belgium) and TU Vienna (Austria) engaged Acopex for technical execution and design integration. The collaboration was part of a larger academic research initiative under the Erasmus Program.
The project was developed under the guidance of a multidisciplinary team including Stefan Boeykens, Caroline Himpe, and Bob Martens, ensuring historical accuracy and technical rigor.
